research

Historically, Balgrist Biomechanics research has been at the joint level, focusing on characterization of human movement, and objective analysis of surgical approaches to restoring joint function.

In September 2006, Jess Snedeker was appointed to head the biomechanics laboratory, and has extended the range of research activities in the lab into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying skeletal homeostasis, pathology, and healing.

Thus we take an integrative, multi-scale approach to understanding orthopedic disease and healing.
